WordPress recently announced the launch of WordPress 4.8, the latest version of the popular content management system. Updated with a host of new features, the release has been dubbed “Evans” after jazz composer and pianist William John “Bill” Evans. It is available for download in 38 languages.
Key updates include link boundaries which simplify the process of editing links, widget enhancements that do not require knowledge of code, and a dashboard with highlights of news and events.

New Widget-related Features
- Adding Images: Adding an image within a widget can now be done without the use of code. Images can be added within the widget’s settings.
- Adding Videos: Turn any video from your media library into a sidebar widget with the new “Video” widget.
